It’s amazing but true…
(learn the same lessons that I have – with this special FREE offer! Read on!)
Dear Parent,
I don’t blame you. You’re thinking, “come on …how can Martial Arts and
martial arts teach wholesome values – and, success skills?” Well,
I’m here to tell you, in more ways than you can begin to imagine.
My name is David Dow. I’m the owner of one of the most successful martial arts schools in Manhattan Beach California. “L.A. Budo Mile High Martial Arts”.
For over 26 years, L.A. BudoMartial Arts hase been nurturing children like yours with character building tools found only in Martial Arts. No other sport can match them. In the next few pages, I’m going to tell you how you and your child can sample all of this, and more. Free of Charge!!
Watch as your child increases in confidence, energy and spirit. Stand and be dazzled as he becomes unstoppable in his quest for…
Greater academic achievement. Unshakable self respect. Increased strength and fitness, in both body and mind.
And all of it comes while learning how to “kick, block, and punch.” Look at it this way. Your child’s first and biggest challenge comes not from “fighting for his rights on the street,” or “beating up the neighborhood bully.” It comes, instead, from battling more sinister forces. Your child’s own fears and self doubts:
“I’m not as smart as Frank.”
“I don’t get what my teacher is saying.”
“I wish I was as [strong, pretty, tall] as Mary.”
“Why does Jose keep giving me a bad time?”
“Why can’t I be as popular as Steffi?”
The question is, how do you get your child to fight these demons? You know the problem. Your child has a tough time even telling you she’s haunted by them. Never mind how she might conquer them.
Well, the good news is, I have a proven solution. A program that has already worked for over 10,000 children. A series of lessons your child can learn easier than you think.
Let me tell you it’s secret:
To repeat, Martial Arts are less about your child learning to fight others, and more about fighting…himself. His innermost fears. Conquer them, and your child unleashes within himself a powerful, unstoppable force.
A force that gives him the strength to kick down the doors of his own self doubt, A force that opens your child to the exalting power of values.
In other words, when your child uses the discipline of Martial Arts to conquer his fears, he has power to transfer that discipline to all other areas of his life. I know of no other sport that does this better than Martial Arts. (I should know, remember, I have been teaching for over 20 years.)
But don’t take my word for it…
“For nearly two years my daughter has been enrolled at the Bujinkan Anko Dojo in the Panther Kub program. When she started, she was about 3½ and the youngest child in class. Through the guidance of Sensei David Dow and Nidan Sophia Dow and the help of her fellow students, my daughter was welcomed into class with kindness, sensitivity and the support of a structure a child her age could learn from and grow with. To that end, she has excelled in the following areas:
- Listening, concentration and focus
- Physical coordination, flexibility and stamina
- Stranger Danger and Environment Sensitivity
- Introduction to Japanese culture, language and customs
Now, as she starts kindergarten, these skills have manifest themselves
in her academic/language immersion class and her social interaction with other
children – both at home and at school. She is outgoing and polite in class and
on the playground. She loves to learn new things and engages that process with
enthusiasm, focus and discipline. I would highly recommend the L.A. Budo Martial
Arts program to any parent/caretaker who wants to expose their child to an environment
that is both fun and intent on introducing the child to an activity, both mental
and physical, that will bear fruit for many years to come.” -Andre
Bustanoby Visual Effects Supervisor Stan Winston Digital .

Putting the Fun back into a children’s class
One thing that we at L.A. Budo understand is that kids learn differently than adults. In the animal kingdom the main learning tool is play. Young humans are no different. If you watch predatory animals play you will see them mimicking movements they will someday use. The same goes with prey behavior. The movements they will someday need to survive are disguised in play. At L.A. Budo, martial skills and drills are interwoven in games and play so that the kids have fun while developing the attributes they will need.
We teach what works
We understand that many activities such as participation in sports, civic or
religious groups can help kids develop character, discipline, self-confidence,
and more. The difference is that only martial arts teaches children skills and
attributes that can help them avoid danger or protect themselves physically.
Unfortunately even many other martial arts programs are more interested in perfecting
forms and competitions. Our motto of ancient traditions ![]()
modern applications, means that all the skill we teach will help
protect your children. Here are some of the benefits your child will receive
in the L.A. Budo Martial Arts Program:

L.A. Budo Martial Arts Reinforces Your Family Values
Many of the same concepts you are teaching your child at home will be consistently
reinforced through classroom discussions in your child’s program. Topics such
as: good manners (which include keeping hands and feet to themselves), respect
for one’s self and others, following directions the first time and more are
taught!
Make Your Child Safer With Personal Development Lessons
Valuable personal development lessons have been built into the L.A. Budo Martial
Arts curriculum. Your child will participate in discussions on: “Stranger Danger,”
“Bully Safe ,” “Fire Safety,” “Street Safety” and more.
Your Child Will Learn to Set Goals, Build Confidence, Have a Positive Mental Attitude
Each and every class students work on their check list of skills and behaviors.
Once they have completed all their checks, they will move up to the next belt
level. This helps your child understand making a plan, setting goals and how
great it feels to achieve them.
L.A. Budo Martial Arts Helps Prepare Your Child for Life
Through play, children also learn the rules of social engagement. The beauty
in teaching self-defense athletically is that the children can see their own
strengths and weaknesses through fun and safe competition. In many sectors of
our society the word competition has become a bad word. Too many view competition
as a battle of egos in which one person is deemed better than the other based
on the outcome. We at L.A. Budo foster the true meaning of Competition. To compete
comes from the Latin Word competere, which means to strive
together. The atmosphere of our dojo fosters personal and character
growth and development at all times. The more advanced students help the beginners,
the outgoing help the introverted. Not only will this help them compete in the
real word, with a good attitude but teaches team work and fosters compassion.
It is difficult for children to develop social skills and character if their
entire class is based around lining up and being quiet. They must interact with
one another. L.A. Budo Martial Arts will improve your child’s basic motor skills,
as well as your child’s positive mental skills. These skills will help your
child enter society with a confident and enthusiastic outlook. Your child will
become a better student in school, a better listener at home and feel more ambitious
towards his/her future goals. We believe that these early years are the most
important years of a child’s development. Let us help enhance your child’s mental
and physical development in a fun, positive and motivating way. Enroll your
child today, and help prepare them for life! Class sizes are limited, contact
us now to reserve you child’s space!

More Parent Reviews:
My 6- and 8-year old have been attending LA Budo since Jan. 2009. They love going to their "class" 2-3x per week. LA Budo is truly a unique martial arts school in that it continually tries to teach and encourage children to be respectful, responsible as well as how to be a team player. Earning a belt isn't just about kicks, throws and weapons. In fact, LA Budo requires the children to earn their stripes before they are tested. Stripes are received after each child reaches their self-discipline goals, job list, book club hours, homework etc. Despite all these requirements, my children are still excited about going to their class. After all, they always say that "it is so much fun! |
WONDERFUL FOR KIDS AND BUILDING SELF ESTEEM AND ESTABLISHING DISCIPLINE!
My son has been at Mile High Karate for 4 months now, it has been a great experience. There is a great balance at this studio of positive reinforcement while holding the children accountable for their actions. My 6 year old son has grown a lot in this short time, and I'm looking forward to seeing his progression in the next few months. |
